Mathilda the Sea Turtle is a bilingual (German/English) children's book in which a friendly turtle tells of her life - from hatching from the egg all the way to laying her very own. A lot of emphasis was placed on biological facts while at the same time drawing attention to the many man-made dangers that marine creatures have to struggle with today. These include plastic pollution and the dangers of overfishing. However, readers are also shown what they can do within their own sphere of influence to keep the oceans clean and protect marine life. It is an entertaining and educational book that draws the attention of the younger generation to the importance of healthy oceans.
